Undergraduate Student Takeshia Pierre: Volunteer Work in the Gainesville Community

Takeshia PierreTakeshia Pierre is a 3rd year Health Science Major in the Pre-Public Health track. In addition to her studies, Takeshia currently engages in extensive volunteer work throughout the Gainesville  community. Takeshia volunteers with the Alachua County Health Department’s Minority AIDS program where she does a minimum of 15 hours of HIV/AIDS related community service monthly, including HIV/STD testing and education at various locations both on and off campus. She also mentors high school students at Eastside High School as well as college Freshmen here at the University of Florida. Takeshia plans to graduate in the Spring of 2013 and has hopes of becoming a future pediatrician.
