Erica Kiernan and Karishma Chhabria win SHARC Conference Award
Behavioral Science and Community Health doctoral students Erica Kiernan (pictured left with the other award winners) and Karishma Chhabria were awarded third place for their poster at the recent Southern HIV and Alcohol Research Consortium (SHARC) Conference. The conference was held January 28-29th, 2015 at the Hilton UF Conference Center. Their poster, titled “Loneliness and Drinking in an HIV Positive Population”, looked at the association between loneliness and alcohol abuse among HIV positive individuals. Erica, a licensed physical therapist and occupational therapist, oversaw the research, which was conducted as part of a PHHP collaboration grant.
