Each year the Center for Independent Living of North Central Florida (CILNCF) raises money to support their High School/High Tech (HS/HT) program, an enrichment program for high school students with disabilities. HS/HT is a national network of state and locally operated programs designed to provide young people with all types of disabilities the opportunity to explore jobs or further education leading to technology-related careers. As part of the annual CILNCF fundraiser, people can purchase $5 raffle tickets with the proceeds supporting the program. Moreover, one lucky winner is selected to receive a variety of gifts and services from various restaurants and businesses in Alachua County. This year, our very own Mike Moorhouse was lucky enough to win the grand prize worth an estimated $3,500. As part of the package, Mike won gift cards to Manuel’s Vintage Room (his favorite), Mildred’s Big City Food, Stonewood Grill and Tavern, and many other local restaurants, as well as limited time memberships to Alter Ego Fitness and Gainesville Health and Fitness, free tree services, several spa and massage gift cards, a road side emergency kit, and a recycling bin cart from Zell’s Hardware Company.
